View Full Version : Ewido - Anti-malware

Before anyone even thinks about plunging into the Internet waters they MUST take steps to secure their own computer from the thousands of nasties that are just itching to clamber aboard your computer.

A little while ago someone recommended Ewido to me and a 14 days trial for free can be downloaded from http://www.ewido.net/en/ This free trial is the same as the paid for version but after 14 days certain extensions become deactivated. What is left will still work on a basic level.

With a full 30 days refund policy it costs $29.95 for a one year license. Additional years cost $19.95 per year with a 10% discount if you renew the license before the current one expires.

I ran AdAware and it found some spyware and things as it usually does and dispatched them. I ran SpyBot and it didn’t find anything. Spyware Doctor found a few malicious cookies and sent them packing. AVG didn’t find any viruses.

I ran Ewido and it found three more nasties and got rid of them. So now I have another piece of armour to help keep my computer nasty free.

Well, Free AVG version will only protect us from Viruses and spyware. It doesn't offer a complete protection from root kit and spam. More details you can read here

If you want to get rid of malware, try SpyBot Search&Destroy. It is free and does the job well. I used to like Ad Aware as well but it just got too damn big...
