View Full Version : Virustotal

Has anybody heard of Virustotal.com?
This website is for scanning your suspicious files. If you download stuff from unknown sources, you should scan the files with virustotal.com first before double click on them.
How it works is you upload the file to the site and it tells you if the file is infected or not. It even gives you the name of the virus.

Hello jon2k9,
Whether you are new to the HYIP world or have a wealth of experience behind you, a very warm welcome to you from admin, moderators and our happy band of forum members. We are here to help each other.

You might like to refresh your memory of the forum rules at http://goldentalk.com/t7526.html and you can post your comments about them at http://goldentalk.com/t25587.html

If you are an out and out newbie to computers and the Internet these could be useful to you.

If you have some time to spare maybe you would consider having a read of the following threads.
http://goldentalk.com/t563.html
http://goldentalk.com/t2510.html
http://goldentalk.com/t2270.html for info on making a signature.

You should find them useful.

Finally a couple of tips on DD.
Go to http://www.goldpoll.com/ or .net or .org. A short way down on the left hand side you will find a HYIP Search field. Input the name of the site or its URL that you are looking for and click on “Search”. If GoldPoll is monitoring the site you will be taken to it quickly.

Back in the forum do a search for the programme. Once again just its name should be enough. If there is a thread or threads for that programme you will be shown a list of them.

Good Luck!

Jim

Virustotal is good, but sometimes we need to wait a bit longer before our file get processed due to a long queue. If you want to get faster service, you can try the same service from virscan.org (http://www.virscan.org/) or threatexpert.com (http://www.threatexpert.com/submit.aspx)

Here is a screenshot of VirScan.Org

Nope, I haven't heard about it before.

Where's the screenshot? I couldn't see it. It only shows maseko.com.

No...I haven't tried it since I already have an anti-virus software on my laptop(AVG).
I don't have anti-virus on the desktop at this moment,it expired, and I am simply too lazy to reactivate it,I think there might be a lot virus hidden in it at this moment, haha, then I may need to use this virustotal to give it a check.
when I met a virus,I would usually use a software to find its source, end the running programme, and delete the source file, though it's usually not an easy job to do.

Virustotal.com and novirusthanks.com are best online scanners of files. I always scan file with theese before I open downloaded files because of my security. Those sites scan your program with almost every antivirus and you can be sure for 100% that some file is,or is not infected.
