Oh well, I'm off now to remove all my referral links that I've only just set up!

My signature is getting rather short too. If we can't post about sites, that eliminates one of the best practical uses of goldentalk - that of pooling our knowledge and findings. Especially since the sites going private, or having no referrals, are amoung the best and logically others will want to learn of them. I am in 9 plans that are paying me well (except for Global-Mutual, and that is understandable) and appear to be long term players. I'm also waiting for GIG. We will have to be imaginative in adapting to this new situation.

Wow I don’t log in for a week or so and I come back to find a bombshell of a news item for a welcome.

Guess I’m back to having an empty sig again.

Smile closed doors - new rules ?

It strikes me as quite coincidental that 2 reliable programs have done the same thing in the space of a few days, and according to FM they will soon follow...

It is my opinion that they are trying to lower their public profile by reducing visibility on forums and in blogs. This maybe (pure conjecture) because there are some new legal initiatives coming, new rules about online investment programs on the way, whereby the only way you will be able to invest online in an 'unregulated' program is through a private membership club, by Invitation only.

This could be a move against scammers ? If you're not a private club then you're illegal - and you all know that touting (and spamming) for refs is the only way to keep ponzis alive.... if there's going to be rule against public referrals that will shut a lot of programs down!

I wonder.....

Exclamation FF Update:

News

14 December 2005

Due to some of the feedback we have been receiving, we thought it useful to answer some of those questions here for general observation.

Why have your closed to new Members?

The FeederFund's principal role is to provide information on high risk, often offshore investment programs but also provide the opportunity to join a pool fund for those not wishing to risk the sometimes large minimum investment. The widespread aggressive promotion of our organisation by our Members is simply not sensible. This will get our organisation and perhaps those marketers into trouble with regulators at some stage. So the principal reason for closing to new members is to reduce risk to our organisation and to our Members funds.

Can I still invest?

Yes. Members may still deposit or withdraw at will. There is no change to our general facilities for Members. We have simply closed the doors to any further Members.

Do I need to invest to keep my account?

No. We do have more information on general terms of Membership which will be included in the second part of the notice released here before the end of next week. This will be when we are on our new server.

Are you closed permanently?

Again there will be more information regarding this in the second part of the notice released next week.

The saga continues.............

I actually prefer the idea of no referral links as they remind me too much of MLM.
A program that does not have referrals seems stronger to me and thus my investment is a bit more secure. If I want MLM there are places to go for that.
Interesting idea you present peterg and it makes sense. Going private -scary term- would also eliminate a lot of very small investors who may be overwelming some administrators with their $0.01 wilthdrawals. I've often suspected that is part of Global-Mutual's problems.
