Hi there. I changed my passwords in egold yesterday. Using no more words now . whew. But what I need to understand is more about the highest level of security to choose.
Does it then ask for two passwords each time you log in..or what happens? Kathryn |

Your alternate passphrase is for Shopping Cart verification Kathryn and has nothing to do with logging in.
Your Sentinel settings should be at least at their default values or: Set Detect IP Address Change Sensitivity to High. You can check the settings from Account Info. Every time that you log in you will get an email from E-Gold with a PIN number and also get taken to a page that will require this PIN number to be inputted. You have to enter this PIN number to gain access to your account. So even if someone gets hold of your password and tried to log into your account YOU will get an email with the PIN number not them. If you ever get an email with a PIN number and you haven’t tried to access your account you will KNOW that someone else has your password so just log in and change it. Just be warned that sometimes when E-Gold is slow the PIN number does not arrive virtually instantly and can arrive many minutes later. If the PIN number email doesn’t arrive within the 15 minutes deadline and you try to log in again you may get two PIN number emails. Only the latest one will work. But that doesn’t happen too often. I think that they should have a withdrawal Transaction code that spawns a PIN number email to help prevent a repeat of the recent hacking. |
