Recently - what with the e-Gold saga ... 12DPro stopping e-Gold and soon to have EMO ... and many other reasons - many of us are looking to EMO.

As with all payment processors, they are very "USA Friendly" but us International members have much more limited outexchange options.

Howver, one of the best options would be the EMO card. Best of all, it costs under $10. Nice.

BUT - BUT - BUT ... have you seen what they charge to post that outside of the US ?

$49 !!!!!!!!

THAT IS A TOTAL RIP-OFF !!!!

I think it is extremely important that as many of us contact EMO and demand to know WHY they are ripping us off like this. If enough of us write in to them, then they may think about lowering this fee. It is totally unjustified.

I logged into my EMO account earlier on today and clicked the "Contact us" button. This is an internal e-mail message system.

I told them I had received two cards from different companies in the past, and the max. I have ever been charged for postage was $19 (even THAT is a rip-off, because on the envelope one can see how much US postage was paid - $2.80 !!!!!)

So ... the EMO $49 fee is absolutely outrageous.

Please ... WRITE to them!. Log into your account and send one of those internal messages.

COMPLAIN.

Let them know it is a rip-off. Also tell them you are a member of many forums where International members go, and that you are going to publically make known their rip-off fee for International postage!!!!

Let's see if we can get EMO to stop ripping us off like this.

BUT ... the ONLY way it will happen is if ENOUGH people complain. They are NOT going to reduce those draconian fees unless enough of us express our outrage ... DIRECTLY TO THEM. It is no use just saying "tut-tut" on the forum, but doing nothing about it.

Yes ... your complaint DOES mean something! Yes ... You DO count!

I don't think auto verification means what you think it does. I went through the process, and what it did was ask me a series of questions based on information from my financial credit file. Unless someone had stolen my identity and knew my past history, only I could answer the questions, which included hard to answer questions about my children, where I've lived, etc. I'm more impressed with them because of the auto verification process than before.

I've got a complaint about EMO myself. Their customer service used to be efficient but I notice they've started to slacken in terms of response time (the price of popularity?).

I've just tried to log on to my account but could not, even if I'm pretty sure I got my password right. And to re-set my password, I'm supposed to call customer service -- and what, pay long-distance?

Heck, I'm not even sure I could print out a money order form on my computer and deposit it with my local bank as claimed by them on their website.

Verification took only like minutes, not like a few days as before. Well, EMO might have slacken in terms of security.

But they did disable my account when I'm using Metropipe's services, which is weird. lol, they dont allow proxy logins.

cmon...49$ is nothing for a service like EMO DC....it's one of the lowest debit card price on the market (trusted ones), wake up, if you arent able to pay 49$ for a true service so just pass on it....I'm with EMO DC for months now and never had any problem....so for me 49$ is a gift....

As most of us have been forced recently in to using EMO it is reassuring to hear from someone who rates the service highly. But I think you miss the point of this post.

Postage is free within the USA and yet they charge $49 for postage outside. Actual cost of postage might amount to an extra $1 or so. The complaint to EMO is of unfair treatment to those outside of USA.
