Angry Read this if you want to keep your E-Gold.

Someone has hacked the 18DailyPro site and altered the site code so that when you click on the E-Gold button you get taken to a payment page for account #2882365 (18dailypro.biz) In actual fact that is the account number for Surf&Earn

All my upgrades and payments have been made to and come from E-Gold account #2818583.

How was this done?
First open an E-Gold account using the name of 18DailyPro.

Then hack into 18DailyPro and change http://2818583.e-gold.com/ to the new account number. That’s all there is to it apart from gathering the funds.

I would just add that I do not know how to hack into a site but I do know enough html to be able to direct a payment to my account from a link in a web page. We all have our own Personal Payment Link, which is http://xxxxxxx.e-gold.com/ where xxxxxxx is your E-Gold account number.

It has been done once and you can bet your sweet life that there will be others.

Before upgrading anywhere that uses E-Gold look in your E-Gold account history and make a note of the account number where you last made a payment to and received a payment from a particular site. When you make your upgrade make sure that the account number being displayed is the same as what you already know. If it is different and even if alongside it states the name of the site, do not believe it.

This latest hack is going to cause major problems and people will lose money if they are not very, very careful.

Hi jambutty, it's unbelievably! Thank you for your report.

Such informations will help us.

Here is my news, then both accounts were blocked by egold now.

"Incoming Spends Blocked on Recipient e-gold Account 2818583. A Block has been applied to e-gold Account 2818583 (18dailypro.biz). No payment can be made to this account while a block is in place"

The same is with account number 2882365!

Greetings

Default Don't fall for this...

Lemontea Cool posted an advert for ' E-Gold Hacking software' in the Advertising folder here: http://goldentalk.com/showthread.ht...0686#post110686

I copied it to E-Gold Abuse, and this is the reply.
Quote:
We have investigated
acct #4062587 and have placed a block on their account which will prevent
them from receiving any further spends into their account.

There is no such thing a e-gold hacking software. It is a scam in which
they will send you a Trojan virus that will capture your passphrase and then
they will in turn steal your e-gold without providing you any software.

There are three security recommendations we would like to make to you in
case you are not currently doing them.

1. You may want to consider book marking the e-gold IP address versus the
URL as your e-gold bookmark and only access it via your bookmark. The IP to
bookmark is https://209.200.169.10. The reason for doing this is there are
viruses such as this one:
http://us.mcafee.com/virusInfo/defa...n&virus_k=99469 that
plant fake entries in the host file which windows then uses instead of the
correct IP address for the site. Using the e-gold IP address versus the URL
will bypass this type of Trojan. Also, never access your e-gold account via
an email message even if the message appears to come from e-gold.

2. Always use the SRK feature to access your e-gold account never type it
in! You should first change your passphrase using the SRK feature. If your
passphrase is changed using the "SRK" feature and the account is only
accessed using the "SRK" feature, then your passphrase will be protected
even if there is a Trojan virus on your computer. However, this is true
only if you are at the correct e-gold site. To ensure you are always at the
e-gold site, you may want to click the box next to your account number on
the login page that says, "Store my account number on my computer". In the
future when you attempt to log into your account and if the account number
is not displayed, you should be wary of entering your passphrase because you
may be at a fake e-gold site.

a. Log into your account using your current passphrase.
b. Click on the button that says, "account info"
c. Scroll down to passphrase box and click in the box.
d. Click on the button that says SRK
e. A small window will pop up on your screen f. Enter your new passphrase by
clicking on the numbers, letters or symbols in the pop-up window. You will
see *** being added to the passphrase box as you use your mouse to click on
the numbers, letters or symbols. *See note g. When ready to confirm your
passphrase click on the arrow on the bottom right hand corner of the pop-up
window.
h. Confirm new passphrase using the same procedure you followed in item #6.
i. Click update passphrase.

*Note: For upper case letter click on the upper case "ABC", for lower case
letters click on the lower case "abc", for numbers click on the "123", for
symbols click on the "sym"

3. If you are making a spend via the e-gold shopping cart interface (SCI)
always confirm you at the actual e-gold site. To verify you are at the
actual e-gold site when using the SCI spend page, double click on the gold
security lock and verify that the certificate was issued to www.e-gold.com
and that the certificate was issued by verisign and is valid from 11/20/2006
to 12/1/2009. You can also review the certificate details and make sure the
certificate serial number is: 7872 5754 6288 71BC 999A 7DB1 466E 9313.

Regards,
e-gold Abuse

I would recommend that everyone follow these instructions - especially using the secure IP rather than the URL, as this defeats a known virus as detailed above.

Be careful please!

Cool

Hello bhrockstr!

Not if you take all necessary precautions.

Whether you are an experienced HYIP investor or new to the HYIP world a very warm welcome to you from our happy band of forum members.

I’m jambutty (the apprentice geriatric) and betsybee and kyteflyer will give a female slant on things, with peterg adding to experience. jeFF is around here somewhere and if you see a shark swimming around don’t panic, it’s only the boss. He doesn’t bite! All that lot out there are the members and without them there would not be a forum.

Please read the rules at http://goldentalk.com/t7526.html and you can post your comments about them at http://goldentalk.com/t25587.html

We look forward to you being an active member of this forum and reading what you have to say. We hope that the information and advice that you find on here will be useful to you.

If you are an out and out newbie to computers and the Internet these could be useful to you.

If you have some time to spare maybe you would consider having a read of the following threads.
http://goldentalk.com/t20852.html
http://goldentalk.com/t20851.html
http://goldentalk.com/faq.html
http://goldentalk.com/t563.html

http://goldentalk.com/t2510.html
http://goldentalk.com/t2270.html
http://goldentalk.com/t2413.html

You should find them useful.

Finally a couple of tips on DD.
Go to http://www.goldpoll.com/ or .net or .org. As far as the IE browser is concerned go to the menu Edit and select ‘Find (on This Page) and in the Find what: field type in the name of the programme that you are researching. Just the name will do and not the URL. If GoldPoll is monitoring the site you will be taken to it quickly. Other browser may do things differently so you may have to search for the ‘Find’ facility.

Back in the forum do a search for the programme. Once again just its name should be enough. If there is a thread or threads for that programme you will be shown a list of them.

Jim
(jambutty)

Good Luck!
