I downloaded and installed this AntiSpyware in mid April but I wasn’t too impressed.
It didn’t find what AdAware and Pest Patrol found but they found what AntiSpyware found. But it is still only in the Beta stage so things may improve as time goes by. It is better than nothing at all and being free it makes it a good option. So thanks for the info kjk. |

Sorry kjk I have no idea.
I don’t use Firefox. As it were gerryst who recommended Firefox I think that it would be OK for you to PM him to ask. |

You can definitely PM me about such questions.
Actually Firefox should tell you that some plugin is missing and download it for you. Try going to www.map24.com and get a map from wherever you like. Use the interactive map, this is done with Java. PM me if Firefox does not install Java automatically. I will then post a manual installation guide. My only Windows box is a dual boot machine running Linux as well, and right now Linux is busy updating. |

I switched to Linux and use Firefox, Konquerer and Opera. If one doesn't surf well, I switch to another. No problems here!

Where to invest???
|
it takes between a week and a month to track and create the signature for the trojan/virus
by that time you will be already infected, i would recomend a good firewall like Outpost, it the best on the market, and trojans cant bypass the forewall.. pent the money its worth it.. |

There will always be a time lag between some dork launching a new virus xcrow and the anti virus people getting hold of it and writing the proper antidote to it. How long that takes is in the lap of the gods. But you can help yourself by not opening emails that you are not expecting especially if there is an attachment. If by chance an email from a friend arrives with an attachment but there is nothing said in the email text about it being there, then I am immediately suspicious. I check back to see if my friend had included an attachment. Never click a link in a strange email.
As I understand it a firewall cannot stop a Trojan. An excellent firewall like ZoneAlarm blocks all the exit and entry ports to all traffic that tries to route through them. However if you are sending and receiving emails and surfing there must be at least two ports open for that traffic to get to your computer and Trojans get onto your computer via an email or from a web site. A firewall may have the ability to recognise infected code but only those that it knows about. Anyway welcome to this forum xcrow. If you are also new to HYIP and considering earning money on line and want to invest some of your hard earned cash you might like to consider what many of the forum members call their favourite money paying sites listed in their signatures, before striking out on your own. If they are paying for them they will also pay for you, although no one can predict which site will still be there tomorrow. Once you have made a profit somewhere you can then use some of that profit to seek out new sites to invest in. If you have some time to spare maybe you would consider having a read of the following threads. http://goldentalk.com/t563.html http://goldentalk.com/t2504.html http://goldentalk.com/t2510.html http://goldentalk.com/t2270.html http://goldentalk.com/t2413.html You might find them useful. |

I’ve had a look at SpySweeper and the home page states:
Smart shields conveniently block spyware before it installs So if SS is finding the Perfect Keylogger is it removing it? It may be that if you have the trial version and it will only detect and not remove. That seems to be the trend these days with these free “let us check your computer for nasties” software. However what you could try is to disconnect from the Internet, then run SS and if it finds your Perfect Keylogger, run it again. If it finds it again then SS is not deleting it. If it doesn’t find it again then you must be picking it up from one of the regular sites that you visit. I don’t know if this is possible or not but you might have a cookie on your computer that arranges a download of the Perfect Keylogger every time that you connect to the Internet and are surfing somewhere. So I would suggest that you clear your cookies – all of them and see what happens not just those that your browser will delete using menu Tools > Internet Options and the Delete cookies button. Well that’s what it is on Internet Explorer and it may be the same on Firefox – I don’t know. I suppose that you have a decent anti-virus software running. If not you can pick up a free version from http://www.grisoft.com/doc/1 Click on Site Map and then on AVG Free Edition then Visit the AVG FREE Edition web page. Hope that helps. |
