Default Cure for Problems with Hackers

I have noticed that many of the successful programs like Club Fx and others are constantly being harrassed by hackers. It is very frustrating for us and I can only imagine how frustrating it is for the programs. The emails you must get.

So I have a suggestion. We are all familiar with the saying from the movie "Field of Dreams" If you build it they will come.

So why even create a site? Just communicate via email and via email everyone signs up. You send out weekly or monthly reports. There are more than enough forum sites out there so if the program is a winner, everyone will find a path to you door.

You build it (a great money making program) and they will come.

Now I know that some of the admin's running the program like the databases and the script of websites that keep track of the investment and pay outs and such.

So still have the website and software but put it on a seperation url that only you know about. Don't make it public. Then when you get new people signing up. All you have to do is sign them up once, yourself, and then enter in the deposits they make. The rest of the site will keep track of the rest and you use that data to send out your monthly reports.

I know it is a bit more work but you will be free from hackers.

At least with my limited amount of knowledge of hacking I think so.

Cool

You mean like EBPC (formerly E-Bastion) did and then folded? The reason was, they stated, that a major investment on their part was not honoured. I think that they found the workload too much to cope with and possibly spam attacks.

There will always be vandals out there only too ready to destroy and it is simple enough to get the email address of a programme like EBPC even if joining is by invitation only.

I had several requests for an invitation to join EBPC but their emails contained a virus attached. They didn’t get invited until they sent me a ‘clean’ email or opened an email account with Yahoo as EBPC recommended. Once an email address is known there is nothing to stop the ‘spoiler’ from flooding the email account with spam or sending emails with a virus attached.

I warned EBPC what might happen but they reckoned that they had defences in place to cope with email viruses. However someone has to look at each email because it might have come from a bona fide member and that takes time.

However the email run HYIP does have some merit but it won’t cure the ‘spoiler’ problem.

A fourm based program like GF is also a good option.

Thank Jambutty, it looks like they seem to always find a way to ruin things. But the forum is very intereting. So I wonder if a forum the way to go or are there ways hacker can ruin a forum run program.

Of course, one question comes to mind, can a hacker create a program that spams 100's of post to the forum. And how do you keep out all the other people who spam on a smaller regular basis.

I reckon that a hacker can do anything if he has the knowledge and skill.

There is talk already the Vista can be compromised in spite of Bill Gates’ claim that it is the securest OS ever.

every OS out of MS is said to be THE MOST SECURE .. and of'course each and every one is worse than the previous...

It will introduce some new security fixes and concepts which will have inherent faults that render the whole idea and effort useless...

its like the hyip arena really... they always fail you (*ducks*)

Hey does Mac do servers. I have been told they are somewhat more hacker proof.

Mac has Xserve. but thats not the scripting, its the hardware. Every mac comes with an apache server on board. php and mysql are easily added. Having mac servers only becomes more secure with different software and scripting. And when you have scripts accessible to the public, you have people hell bent on finding their back doors and exploiting them.

As far as Vista is concerned, I believe SP1 is due for release around April.

I still think that Bill Gates should re-name Windows to Patches it would be more accurate.
