Default Possibly caused by the virus? Need help.

Hello guys,

I was deceived by my computer time. I have been online the whole day thinking that my time is still the same and even if I have always my phone with me.. I didnt' bother to compare the time because I didn't have any idea that it has been changed.

Just now, while talking to a friend.. he told me that he will be back at 9pm and I laughed and said he's lying because it's already 9:25pm.. but then I found out that it's still 8:25pm and I confirmed it with my phone.

I was thinking that maybe my computer has a virus? That's what he told me too. This is the first time it happened to me but a virus is all I can think about.

What do you think?

Yeah,it's probably the trick of the virus.I met such problems before. My computer time simply get fussed up and it always change back to a certain time once and once again. But don't panic,it's only a trick. There are many people here who make these virus(or,better call them tricks),it shouldn't hurt your personal information. If you still feel not right, simply reinstall the os~

Do you share your computer with your family ? If not, when did the last time you replace your BIOS / CMOS battery ?

Uhh...Do you mean that someone might touch the CMOS battery of the laptop, and the time became default? That's also something possible. But what computer does starapple use?Laptop or desktop? If desktop,I don't know if there would be a battery for the desktop.

I think it is the virus as virus does some strange things and some of the virus cannot be detected by virus scanners also and the only solution is to format the system

Apart the possibilities mentioned above and especially that of using your computer with other members of your family, I wouldn't consider that a virus would have done that, unless you are not able to change it back to normal... Usually, viruses don't need to change the time settings on your computer to cause problems to it..

Have you connected any mobile devices to your computer lately (like a mobile phone, palm top or something..)? Sometimes they synchronize automatically with your computer, that may have been a possibility

Well i thought the only way that can change the time setting is either someone or the dying CMOS battery and as for the virus i don't think it can do that as long as your battery is still functioning very well

Well there are batteries on all computers including the desktop computers to keep settings when the pc is powered off
