With E-Gold still in Limbo and no sign of some sort of a resolution this thread serves no useful purpose other than to enable post chasers to chase posts.

Thus it is being closed temporarily.

If anyone hears of a positive change to the current situation, PM a mod who will open the thread to enable you to make your post.

Yes egold. Although years back egold has a good start its marketing plan target is different that why its not so popular like alertpay and paypal.
Like liberty reserve I never heard about Liberty Reserve.
Until I heard about hyip.
I can almost associate LR to hyip. Because in order to survive in hyip the best is you have LR.
Right now Alertpay penetrate hyip. Although its dominated by LR.
In ptc also the same. Dominated by PP but still AL is second choice.
And egold. Before mylot payment is via egold before they replace it to paypal.
Their is some site still loyal or using egold as ecurrency.
If alertpay also can penetrate that then its a good marketing strategy.
..
About Ebay and paypal. business is business and to be a mature in business you must penetrate the market of your enemy. And money is money in business money talks. If I'm a marketing arm of alertpay I just simply say to ebay do you want to increase your sale up to 30% then add alertpay. It will increase your sale to 30% because members of alertpay who invested in hyip and ptc has a chance to buy in ebay or something like that.
..
egold is an old road that lack innovation but has high profile members. Penetrate that and alertpay increases its funds.
..
Right now alert pay is jack of all traded but master of none.
that way for me they still not a mature ecurrency.
To be a mature ecurrency you must be associate with what ever industry that fit to be called alertpay.

Why do you think I mentioned mylot having a egold as first ecurrency yet they change it to paypal?

I can't say e-gold is down to its knees because their still some and as I quote myself " their is some site still loyal or using egold as ecurrency."

I'm not saying that egold will be gone soon. But if that happen and if alertpay have position them self then they have a good starting point. ( related to my previous post)
..
Just wondering why you so in to egold. Is their something in your mind about egold that I don't know?

well as you are talking about egold some people might be using egold still but they will be just in few numbers, I can not remember that i have seen some using e-gold, but egold has low value if you exchange it to AP or some thing else.

I logged in to E-Gold today just to see if there has been any change to the situation. There has.

My balance is no longer listed in USD but in Gold.

The last time that I looked on 1st January 2011 I had $885.20 in my account but it is now listed as “oz Troy 0.628916 or 848.47 grams Gold”.

What is interesting is an E-Gold blog entry that reads.
“December 31, 2010

e-gold Update: Value Access Plan Approved
As my November 2, 2009 blog entry advised, we have been working diligently to develop a Value Access Plan (VAP) to allow access to e-metal account value. We are pleased to announce that we have finalized an agreement with government authorities that will permit owners of VAP-Qualified Accounts to be paid in U.S. dollars their proportionate share of the monetized value of the e-metals in such Accounts. Completion of an agreed upon customer identification process is a prerequisite to participation in the VAP. Please complete this process as soon as possible and respond to any request for additional information promptly.

A VAP-Qualified Account is one (1) that does not contain value derived from suspected illegal activity; (2) as to which all required customer information has been provided to, and verified by, e-gold Ltd.; (3) that consents to having a VAP claim processed, which involves our transmission of all VAP-required customer information, account number, e-metal balance and monetized value to a Court-appointed Claims Administrator; and (4) after review by the Court-appointed Claims Administrator and the U.S. Government, is not disqualified by either of them on the basis of (a) known engagement in criminal activity, (b) activity relating to terrorism; or (c) residence in a country (other than Iran) subject to Office of Foreign Assets Control sanctions that would prohibit the Claims Administrator from paying the claimant.

More information on how to participate in the Value Access Plan will be posted here shortly, including when and how to submit Value Access Plan claims. Please visit this site often. Once the claims process begins, there will be a 120day period within which all claims must be submitted (the “Claims Period”). Claims will be processed as they are received during the Claims Period, and VAP-Qualified Account claims will be paid by the Court-appointed Claims Administrator pursuant to Court Order on a rolling basis.”

So what does it all mean?

It would appear that if an account holder has supplied all the required ID information, any dollars in the account would be changed into gold and subject to a few more conditions the account holder would be able to capitalise on the gold by exchanging it for USD, probably in the form of a cheque at some time in the future.

With a 120 days claim period, it is going to be several months yet before the E-Gold situation is resolved and account holders get their money out.

I can wait.

The current price of gold is $1,349.00 per Troy ounce. That makes my 0.628916 Troy ounces worth $848.41. I’ll settle for that.
